28 February, Wednesday - Day 57

Last night we camped in « Oppi-Koppi Campsite » just outside Kamanjab and wole up with a flat tyre.   That means emptying the back of the ca r to reach the spare wheel.

A tough start of the day.

Jens gets status of hero by donating his belt to fix the doorstep which is falling off.

Kamanjab means « Place of Stones » - we saw dozens of vultures in the sky and some feasting on a small springbok.

We have entered Etocha National Park at Galton Gate.    In 1907  Sweedish Lindequist discovered that all kind of African animals were to be found in the area.  He had the Park declared National Park with 99.000 km2.  It was thereafter reduced twice and is actually covering a fenced area of 22.000 km2.

Tents are in place and the braai (Afrikaans for barbecue) is well underway.
Serving the Master - Tomorrow we will start our own private gameride through the Park with the intention of camping in Haleli.
