4 March, Sunday - Day 61 - Kupferquelle Camp in Tsumeb

Yesterday we took time for a long game ride around « Fisher’s » Pan before leaving Etosha by the Lindequist Gate.  A short ride to Tsumeb, where we are to spend a second night camping in the beautiful Kupferquelle Camp.   A huge lawn, old trees of all kinds

And an olympic swimming pool.

Healthy breakfast, washing a few things and then off for a walk in town.  The wealth of Tsumeb is due to the mining industry ... copper, silver, germanium, cadmium and 180 others of which around 10 are to found only here.

Unfortunately the Mining Museum is closed.

A market like in any other African small town, mostly oranges, onions and squash.

Sunday church school outside the Ste Barbara church.   She is the patron of the miners.

Heavy rain fall upon us and we are forced to take the evening meal inside the campside washing room !
